The Lenovo ThinkPad L15 Gen 1 is a refurbished 15.5-inch L-series ThinkPad built around the AMD Ryzen 5 4500U — a six-core Zen 2 processor that brings real multitasking headroom to Lenovo's mainstream business tier. It's the right L-series pick when you want both the bigger 15-inch screen and the higher core count that AMD U-series chips offer.
What sets the L15 apart from the L590
Both are 15-inch L-series ThinkPads, but the platforms come from different design priorities. The L590 uses Intel quad-core silicon and remains comfortably enough for typical office work. The L15 Gen 1 brings AMD's six-core 4500U, which makes a real practical difference for users running many parallel applications — Teams calls alongside heavy browser use, CRM dashboards on top of meeting software, multi-tab research with documents open. Both are solid; the L15 just leans more aggressively into multitasking.
