The HP EliteBook 830 G6 is the G6 refresh of HP's compact 13.3-inch corporate business laptop, built around an Intel Core i5 from the 8th-generation Whiskey Lake family. It refined the 830 G5 with a slightly improved chassis, better hinge feel, and the kind of incremental upgrades HP makes to keep an enterprise platform fresh for IT buyers.
Why the G6 over the G5
For most users the G6 is the smarter pick of the pair: same fleet-grade EliteBook positioning, but a more recent generation with the small but real improvements HP made between generations. The Whiskey Lake i5 brings four cores and eight threads, which translates into smoother multitasking than older dual-core ultrabooks. The 13.3-inch display gives the working surface most office users prefer over 12.5-inch travel laptops, while staying compact enough for a smaller bag.
