The 'T' in the model designation indicates the detachable variant — the keyboard separates entirely from the screen, leaving a full Windows tablet. Powered by the Intel Core i5-8250U with four cores.

Toshiba positioned the Portege X30T-E against the Surface Pro line and Dell's Latitude 7200 2-in-1: a thin, light tablet with a full magnetic keyboard for proper desk work, switching to standalone tablet mode whenever the work calls for it. The 13.3-inch display is generously sized for a detachable — noticeably larger than a Surface Pro or Z20T-C — while remaining light enough to use in the hand for shorter periods.
